La Llorona

La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman," is a figure from Mexican folklore. According to the legend, she is the ghost of a woman who drowned her own children in a fit of rage after discovering her husband's infidelity, and now wanders near bodies of water, weeping and searching for them. Her mournful cries, often heard at night, bring misfortune to those who hear them.
