Old Mill High School Patriot Pride Marching Band
2024 Fall Program
- A Song of Steel
Prepare for an intense and gripping tale of conflict and survival in A Song of Steel. Through powerful musical selections and compelling visual storytelling, this show explores the destructive force of war and its impact on the oppressed. The band, with commanding performances of War Pigs by Black Sabbath, A Lifetime of War by Sabaton, and Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden, takes on the role of the oppressor, while the color guard symbolizes those invaded and struggling for freedom.
Interwoven with the haunting melodies of Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony, A Song of Steel delivers an emotional journey through chaos, despair, and resilience. As the forces of power clash with the will to survive, the show’s dynamic blend of rock and classical elements creates a musical battlefield, leaving the audience with an unforgettable experience of strength and defiance.
