- Hue of Hypnosis
Hypnosis is an incredibly evocative concept. The mystery, skepticism, and pop-culture references create a universal understanding of the act of hypnosis while the lack of experience gives a general curiosity to any audience when the subject is broached. In this production, we will use the known association with hypnosis and contrast them with a juxtaposition of COLOR. Musically, the through line of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” gives a tie-in to the concept, and a strong association with bursts of color.
To be clear, this is not a LITERAL or concrete narrative that tells a story of “someone” being hypnotized, but rather plays into the Audiences preconceived notions of what hypnosis “could” be or do.
