2024 Fall Program
- The Giving Tree
Based upon the 1964 children's book by Shel Silverstein, "The Giving Tree" tells the story of a loving relationship between a boy and a tree. Throughout the story, the tree selflessly gives up parts of itself to help the boy. The tree gives up its apples to make the boy money; it gives up its branches to make the boy a house; and it gives up its trunk to make the boy a boat. All throughout, "the tree was happy." The High Desert Marching Band invites the audience to think on the essential question -- what would you give of yourself to help those you love?
