2024 Fall Program

Red Swan

The Marching Bees are proud to present their 2024 show, “Red Swan”.

The term “black swan” was inspired by the idea that, in the Western world, people only believed in the existence of white swans, until they encountered black swans in Australia. This discovery became a metaphor for representing unforeseen phenomena that can completely change one’s life and preconceived notions.

The Red Swan can emerge by choice and a desire for growth and development. It can also exist as a warning sign or a guiding light, to caution against deterioration or to show the way out of a seemingly impossible situation. To achieve this, effort is required: a shift in consciousness, a willingness to let go of preconceptions. Then, emerging from deadlock or from a downward spiral, harmony and balance can be achieved.

The Red Swan reveals itself to those who are willing to see it. The 2024 Baldwinsville Marching Band production embarks on a journey to discover the Red Swan, aiming to transcend from what is “known” into a new reality.
